Artist Statement

Being an artist and having a identity as an artist is a very difficult task, so many strive to have a voice, a identifiable trademark or style.
I wish for the same thing, but I don't want to be pigeon holed to one style or another, I find so much inspiration in Landscapes, Still life, Portraits, Surealism.
I do want my paintings to speak to the viewers, to have meaning and message, however vague or straightforward it may be, I want the viewer to think while looking at my work, to see the message behind the brushstrokes.
I love color, vibrant bright beautiful color, in it's place, I also love light and shadow, using these elements to create a piece brings me a feeling I can't explain, I hope the viewer feels the same emotions while looking at my work.
